B.T.N Anh Do

Anh Do is a famous comedian. But he wasn’t always happy. When he was little he lived in Vietnam and whilst he was there, there was a war. his family which was his mum, dad , brother and him got on a boat and were at sea for 5. when he was at sea a pirate ship invaded their ship. one pirate was holding a baby and threatened to drop him into the water but they didn’t and they eventually left the ship. that baby was Anh Do’s brother. after tat a German ship came  and rescued them. when the finally came to Australia they were welcomed very nicely and were given clothe. except there was a mix up in the clothes and they got 1 bag of girl clothes and 1 bag pf boy clothes. his brother wore the girl clothes. even if he had to wear girl clothes their mother told them to be grateful that they are in Australia now and not to complain. a question i have is why did the pirates invade the ship and threaten to drop the baby? i now understand even if you are unfortunate if you have a positive attitude then you can get anywhere?

100 word challenge

I took a deep breathe as I walked into the doctors. I was biting my nails so hard that my pinky ripped off . ” Elizabeth McGuire” I heard very sweet voice say. Oh no I was saying to my self . I stood up and went to the room with my motif by my side. I sat down on the chair and put my hand out. The doctor got the needle and stabbed it into my hand. I could feel a tear run down my face. All I could think about was how could something so tiny hurt so much.

B.T.N Federation Explained

Australia is a very unique country but it could have been a very different country. Like in 1642 a Dutch explorer Ayden Tasman discovered Tasmania so if stuck around we would have been speaking Dutch right now.

What we now call Australia wasn’t claimed until 1770 when cook claimed a big chunk for Great Britain. But it wasn’t Australia until a lot later. First the British set up colonies and by the 1850’s there were there were 6 colonies. Great Britain was the big boss of all of them. even if the colonies shared the same continent the still had their own defence forces and their own railway system. Actually back then you couldn’t even go from Victoria to Brisbane because the railway tracks were different.

After some time, the colonies decide that they wanted to join together to make 1 whole country. It would easier to control army that way and if they had the same track it would be easier to travel. The only problem was that the bigger colonies (new south wales and Victoria) were worried that they would have to supply for the smaller colonies but the smaller colonies were worried that the bigger colonies would start pushing them around. So the bigger colonies made a rule that each colony would have the same amount of senators to make it fair.

Then something extraordinary happened on the 9th of July 1900 Great Britain agreed to let the colonies go. on the 1 on January federation happened. But the Australia capital territory and the Northern territory were only added until later on. I understand that Australia had a hard time connecting together and making a country but then I also feel for the aboriginals because they weren’t a loud to vote in federation until 1962. why were the aboriginals only a loud to vote in federation until 1962?

Knock, knock, knock we knocked on mrs Clarkson’s door.

” would you like to buy some cookies” Ava and I said at the same time with a smile on our faces.

” Oh no thank you but could you 2 girls do something for me”

” ok” we both replied confusingly.

now let me tell you something that will help you in the future. NEVER do a favour for mrs Clarkson or she will make you clean her toilet and clean her tiles by hand with a cloth.

Finnaly Ava and I got out of mrs Clarkson’s house. And that is the last time I am knocking on mrs Clarkson’s door.

game reflection

This game was about the gold rush and how different people adapted to it.

I played with 2 different people to see how their lifestyle them. The first person I did was the British miner and the second person I did was the Chinese miner. The first thing I noticed was that the Chinese had a way harder life then the British. The Chinese were poor and had to go through multiple tasks to become a miner in Australia where with the British they didn’t have to through that much work to become a miner in Australia. When they actually got to the gold mine the Chinese got teased a lot about their race whereas the British fitted in nicely. I think this very un-fair that the Chinese are getting teased about how they look and how they speak. Now at the end of each game each person gets an amount of points which determines how they went in the game. The British miner got 200 points and the Chinese got 170 points. think that because the Chinese man was bullied and teased he didn’t get that far in life because he probably had low self-esteem. Whereas the British man did get far in life because he and everything well. Why did the people find it necessary to bully the Chinese man? Did it make them feel good?

B.T.N

In the old day’s soldiers actually wanted to get caught by police. Because a soldier life was boring and some soldiers were home sick. So what they did was they would steal something and purposely get caught. 2 soldiers stole something and purposely got caught. Once soldiers serve their time in jail they can go back to normal life which to them looks easier. Except Governor Darling wanted to make an example out of the 2 men. He made their punishment much worse. Francis Forbes was the first Chief justice in new south wales. One of his jobs was to make sure that Australian laws were not like English unacceptable laws. Why were the English laws unacceptable?  Francis Forbes talked to Governor Darling but Governor Darling still wanted to make an example out of the men. He said the men had to walk around the street for 7 years in chains. The iron chains are torture the prisoners could not stand properly and could not walk properly. 1 of the men got extremely sick. His stomach bloated and his arms and legs started to swell. He had to go to the jails hospital where they removed the chains. 5 days later he died in agony. Monitor and the Sydney gazette defend the Governor and say that the prisoner was ill. The thing was just forgotten till WC went worth decided to remind people gain. The death of the prisoner becomes went worth’s war craft and it entangled Governor darling for years. I understand that back then prisoners got tortured but now they just go to jail. my personal opinion is that i think that the Governor should of got tortured because he made someone die

100wc however, yellow, remarkable, discovered, gingerly

Yesterday I was gingerly watching TV and at the corner of my eye I saw something yellow on the window. I didn’t think much of it then however when the commercial went on I went to check it. I discovered that it was actually a yellow bird that was stuck on my window. I quickly ran outside to go examine it. The bird wasn’t hurt it was just stuck so I slowly grabbed it trying not to hurt it. I opened up my hands to let the bird free. As it flew away I could see its remarkable yellow wings flapping in the sky.

in 1787 the English left Portsmouth and arrived in Australia. the reason was that here were so many people doing the wrong. including children. that didn’t have enough room in their prisons for everyone to fit in. so they turned to making really harsh rules. like being hanged because you stole. but they couldn’t hang everyone. so what did they do? you ask. one thought they had was transportation. Britain had many colonies so they thought they could put them there. like places in America and Africa. but that didn’t work after America turned against them. so they thought they could make a new colony in the land of new south wales. they had six ships with convicts, 2 naval ships and 3 full of food supplies. which meant that 11 ships went off to new south wales. Captain Arthur Phillip was chosen to lead the colony and he knew it was a big deal. now back to the start. the English left Portsmouth on the 13 of May 1787. on the 5 of august 1787 they arrived in Rio de Janeiro then they went to the Cape of Good Hope in Africa and eventually came to new south wales on 19 of January. Captain Arthur Phillip set a flag in a place called Sydney cove. aboriginals have lived there of thousands of years but the English didn’t care. this is different to the other video because the aboriginals didn’t know that the English were taking over the land. the aboriginals weren’t that smart they didn’t know what cows were and called the English “the boat people,” on the other hand the English knew everything and thought this is our land now and you need to get of it. i think the English are selfish and took someone else’s land but then on the other hand i probably wouldn’t be alive now or writing this reflection if it weren’t for them . how would the English feel if another country went and took over their land called it theirs? i understand now why we have Australia day and what it means.
